Who Is Constable Derick Evans ?

Constable Derick Evans began his career in law enforcement with Dallas County Constable’s office Precinct 7 in 1989.  His leadership abilities were recognized early as he was promoted early in his career to assistant chief deputy. 

 

Displaying a great concern for the safety of the children in our community, he was allowed to spearhead a zero tolerance policy towards school violence, which     continues today.

 

Constable Evans received his basic and Intermediate Peace Officer Licenses from Dallas Baptist University.  He received additional training at the Dallas County Sheriff’s Academy, Collin County Law Enforcement Academy, Cedar Valley Community College in Dallas, Southwest Texas State University and Sam Houston State University Criminal Justice Center.  He has earned and been awarded his Advanced and Master Peace Officers Certifications from the State of Texas.

 

Constable Derick Evans has:

  • Over 20 years of Law Enforcement Experience
  • 14 years of law enforcement leadership experience
  • Overseen 3 successful terms/eight years as the elected constable
  • Maintained one of the most diverse law enforcement staffs
  • Hosted policing programs that brought together community leaders and

           Law enforcement to encourage and promote a more empowered community

  • Provided important information to neighborhood associations and crime watch groups
  • Worked closely with local law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of the Precinct 1 Community
  • Help to reduce the incidence of speeding and the number of uninsured motorist on the streets of  Precinct 1.
  • Tempered truancy enforcement efforts with compassion and mentorship
Maintained a strong history of commitment to the community, going above and beyond to make himself and his deputies available to assist area schools, local law enforcement agencies, churches and community leaders to increase the safety of our children at school, in school zones and in our neighborhoods.
